The Weapons Master has bested the League and stolen Guy Gardner's ring. Now the World's Greatest Heroes must battle back from a bizarre trap.

Weapons Master a villain who can summon weapons at will, forces Blue beetle to use Despero's Chess Board with the Justice League American at the pieces. All the moves put the league in danger. Ice is almost killed in a volcano, but is saved by Superman when Blue Beetle places him on the same spot as Ice on the chess board. All is save when Blue Beetle picks up the Guy Gardner piece. This allows guy to will his ring back to his hand and defeat the Weapons Master.
